Job summary

OX Security is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Engineering team and help build scalable, secure backend services powering our AI security platform. This role focuses on delivering robust APIs, high performance systems, and responsible software design.

You will design and implement backend components, collaborate with Product and Frontend teams, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-moving, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Active use of AI tools to streamline coding practices and workflows.
• Strong experience building scalable, production-grade systems.
• Proficiency in Node.js.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and microservices architecture.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in backend development
• AI-First Approach – Active and proficient use of AI tools (e.g., Copilot, LLMs) to streamline coding practices, accelerate learning curves, and optimize workflows.
• Strong experience building scalable, production-grade systems
• Proficiency in Node.js
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and microservices architecture
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code

Bonus Points for

• Experience in the cybersecurity, SaaS, or Cloud Security domain.
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud environments (AWS/GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes.
