Job summary

Jobtome is seeking a Senior Go Backend Developer to join our fully remote engineering team. You’ll own critical backend systems, write production Go daily, and influence architectural decisions across services powering our HR tech platform.

You’ll design scalable APIs (GraphQL/REST), work closely with frontend, data, and product teams, and focus on reliability, observability, and performance. European time zone alignment is required.

The role

You’ll join our engineering team as a Senior Go Backend Developer and take real ownership of critical backend systems and services - not ticket‑pushing, actual ownership. You’ll design, build, and evolve the backend services that power our products, weigh in on architectural decisions, improve system reliability, and help shape how backend engineering is done across the company. This is a hands‑on senior role: you’ll write production Go every day and be deeply involved in technical decisions that have real impact.

What you’ll do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services written in Go
• Build and evolve APIs (GraphQL and/or REST) behind complex product workflows
• Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend architectures
• Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, data engineers, and designers
• Contribute to data modeling, business logic, and performance optimization
• Review code and take part in architectural and technical discussions
• Raise the bar on code quality, testing, observability, and system resilience
• Actively tackle refactoring, technical debt, and long‑term improvements
• Own backend features end to end, from design to production
• Take part in Agile ceremonies (planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives)

Our stack

Go sits at the center of everything. Around it, you’ll work with (and should be comfortable with): API design (GraphQL and/or REST) PostgreSQL (or similar relational databases) BigQuery and other NoSQL databases Distributed systems and service‑oriented architectures Docker and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab pipelines preferred) A cloud‑infrastructure mindset (GCP or other providers) Observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing) Testing (unit and/or integration) Kubernetes

Nice to have

Working experience with Python Exposure to Protobuf and gRPC
