Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Backend Data Test Engineer to validate large-scale data systems, ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across backend platforms and UI applications within a CMS high-priority project.

You will perform ETL validation, work with Databricks, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and collaborate with Data Coaches, Analysts, DBAs, and Scrum/Kanban teams to uphold SDLC standards and Agile delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of direct experience as a Backend/Data Tester.
• Strong expertise in backend database testing using PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and advanced SQL.
• Experience performing data validation within a big-data environment (Databricks, Snowflake, etc.).
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Slack.
• Solid experience in Agile or SAFe methodologies.
• Hands-on experience writing user stories, defect tickets, and clear acceptance criteria.
• Ability to create detailed test cases based on user stories and functional requirements.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with Product Owners, DBAs, and Developers.
• Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage tasks with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive ETL and backend data validation across big-data technologies.
• Analyze, interpret, and validate CMS datasets such as Shared Systems Claims and Provider data.
• Validate data sourced from CMS's Integrated Data Repository.
• Conduct data comparison between backend datasets and UI outputs.
• Collaborate with analysts, DBAs, developers, and Scrum teams for reliability and performance.
• Ensure adherence to Testing Framework standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in UI validations to support end-to-end data integrity.
• Develop, execute, and maintain backend test plans and test cases.
• Design and execute API-based test scenarios to validate services and data flows.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies.
