Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Backend Data Test Engineer to validate large-scale data systems and ensure data accuracy across backend platforms and frontend UI applications. You will work with Data Coaches/Analysts/DBA and Agile teams to align with program standards and SDLC processes.

Responsibilities include ETL validation across Databricks, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL; CMS data analysis; backend-frontend reconciliation; API test design; and independent test plan

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of direct experience as a Backend/Data Tester.
• Strong expertise in backend database testing using PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and SQL.
• Experience performing data validation within a big-data environment (Databricks, Snowflake, etc.).
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and Slack.
• Solid experience working within Agile or SAFe methodologies.
• Hands-on experience writing user stories, defect tickets, and clear acceptance criteria.
• Ability to create detailed test cases based on user stories and functional requirements.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, DBAs, and Developers.
• Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage tasks with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive ETL and backend data validation across big-data technologies including Databricks, Snowflake, PostgreSQL.
• Analyze, interpret, and validate CMS datasets such as Shared Systems Claims and Final Action Indicator logic.
• Validate data sourced from CMS's Integrated Data Repository.
• Conduct data comparison and reconciliation between backend datasets and frontend outputs or Databricks Unity Catalog results.
• Collaborate with Analysts, DBAs, Developers, DevOps, and Scrum teams to ensure data accuracy and performance.
• Ensure adherence to Testing Framework standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in functional UI validations to support end-to-end data integrity.
• Develop, execute, and maintain detailed backend test plans and validation scenarios.
• Design and execute API-based test scenarios to validate backend services and data flows.
