Job summary

Voltus, a remote energy tech company serving the US and Canada, is hiring multiple senior-level roles. As a Senior Engineer you will lead backend and frontend initiatives, tackle complex energy industry challenges, and shape core systems that decarbonize the grid.

You will build backend logic, APIs, data pipelines, and customer interfaces, collaborating with experienced engineers on our modern stack (Python, Go, TypeScript, AWS).

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of experience as a code-contributing engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with backend technologies and databases.
• Empathetic, collaborative, and committed to engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Assume a technical leadership role, bringing past experiences to improve coding practices, team principals, and operating procedures.
• Represent engineering in close collaboration with product, design, and internal stakeholders, including technical requirements gathering.
• Author and support process and design documentation, exemplifying best practices by example.
• Work primarily in the backend and data handling layers of our technology stack, with front-end development on occasion.
