Rush Street Interactive is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Services to build and scale backend platforms that power BetRivers, PlaySugarHouse and RushBet. You will design resilient services, APIs, and event processing while guiding architectural decisions and mentoring engineers.

You’ll lead with Java, Spring and related frameworks, ensure security and reliability, and drive modernization alongside BAU work in a fast-paced, regulated real‑time environment.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree preferred in CS/CE/IS or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices, RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Experience in cloud-native, secure, scalable backend systems and related DevOps practices.

Mansioni

• Lead Java backend development with Spring, Hibernate, Dropwizard for scalable microservices.
• Design and evolve RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures using Kafka.
• Own integrations, monitoring, retries, and data quality for downstream systems.
• Define API governance, contracts, versioning, and standards.
• Support BAU while modernizing architecture and reducing tech debt.
• Deliver observable, secure, high-performing services with CI/CD and testing.
• Lead incident response, root-cause analysis and preventive improvements.
• Mentor engineers, participate in design reviews and hiring.
• Shape technical roadmaps and evaluate trade-offs with stakeholders.
• Explore emerging backend tech including AI-assisted tools for scalability.
