Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC Berlin seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to own architecture, set standards, and build scalable backend systems. You’ll work with TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, and PostgreSQL, shaping the platform that powers AI-driven trading in Europe.

This role blends hands-on coding with mentorship, agile workflows, and real-time systems. Hybrid work (3 days in Berlin office, 2 days remote) plus a clear path to architecture ownership from day one.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, 5+ of them backend
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js ecosystem
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising standards

Responsibilities

• Own backend development end to end: architecture, technology selection, implementation
• Build AI-first workflows; integrate AI tooling in daily development
• Set and uphold code quality benchmarks, development practices, and CI/CD pipelines
• Mentor and elevate engineering team; drive best practices and review standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally in Scrum/Kanban environments using JIRA/Confluence
