Job summary

Leggett & Platt in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable backend services on Microsoft Azure. You will balance hands-on development with cloud architecture, including authentication, containers, and observability.

You’ll mentor peers, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate with product, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable cloud-based solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience on Azure.
• Strong proficiency in C# and/or Python for backend development.
• Solid understanding of core Azure services: App Service, Functions, SQL Database, Storage.
• Experience with OAuth2/OpenID Connect, REST APIs, and Azure AD.
• CI/CD pipelines, ideally Azure DevOps, with multi-stage builds and releases.
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes or Azure Container Apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services and APIs on Microsoft Azure.
• Architect cloud-native components integrating with Azure services.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization using Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Develop and secure RESTful APIs with OAuth2/OpenID Connect.
• Build CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for multi-environment deployments.
• Containerize services with Docker and deploy to AKS or Azure Container Apps.
• Collaborate with cloud/infrastructure teams on deployment practices.
• Instrument applications with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
