Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Azure Kubernetes Engineer to design, operate, and optimize AKS platforms supporting TriZetto QNXT workloads in healthcare payer environments. You will work with QNXT products, DevOps, Azure infrastructure, environment management, and production support teams.

The role requires 5+ years of Kubernetes production experience, strong Azure and IaC skills, and containerized .NET/SQL Server expertise. This remote, full-time position offers competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience operating Kubernetes platforms (AKS preferred) in production.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes operations: cluster builds, node pools, autoscaling, ingress, upgrades, troubleshooting.
• Experience with Azure infrastructure services (virtual networks, subnets, load balancers, identity, monitoring, secure connectivity).
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Experience supporting containerized enterprise applications or mission-critical production systems.
• Experience creating and managing Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments.
• Hands-on experience operating .NET in containerized environments and SQL Server connectivity/HA.

Responsibilities

• Design, provision, and operate secure, scalable AKS clusters for QNXT workloads.
• Manage namespaces, node pools, ingress, autoscaling, networking, and platform reliability.
• Implement IaC using Terraform/Bicep for repeatable Azure builds.
• Enforce identity, access, and security with Entra ID, managed identities, and RBAC.
• Establish monitoring with Azure Monitor, Container Insights, and Kubernetes metrics.
• Support AKS lifecycle: upgrades, release readiness, troubleshooting, production stability.
• Deploy and operate containerized .NET apps and ensure SQL Server connectivity and availability.
