LightEdge Solutions seeks a Senior Azure Engineer in Austin, TX to join the Azure Operations team. You will implement custom Azure solutions, document strategies, and execute changes within maintenance windows while coordinating with customers, vendors and LightEdge staff.

The role may require on-call rotations and after-hours work. You will stay current with Azure offerings, provide senior technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers, and collaborate with Security, Networking and OS

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least 4–6 years’ experience with Azure development and systems administration.
• Azure CSP environment experience is a plus.
• Current Azure certification.
• Experience with Kubernetes is highly preferred.
• Understanding of EntraID, AVD and other Azure services.

The Senior Azure Engineer works within the Azure Operations team and is responsible for supporting Lightedge customers that use the Azure platform. The incumbent will implement custom solutions to fit customer needs while clearly documenting, strategically planning, and effectively executing within maintenance windows. The position requires verbal and written communication with customers, vendors and Lightedge personnel. The position may require working off hours (including holidays and weekends) in support of changes and upgrades as well as problem determination tasks. All members of the Azure team participate in the on-call rotation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support existing Azure environments, monitoring health of environments using multiple enterprise tools, providing maximum system performance to users and sustaining system uptime standard. Implement and validate monitoring in deployments.
• Evaluate customer needs, troubleshoot as needed, also formulate capacity planning and performance recommendations.
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to calls from the Lightedge Command Center
• Respond to customer support calls related to Azure environments, managing incidents within the ticketing system, and resolving issues through troubleshooting.
• Evaluate issues reported or observed, utilizing problem solving skills and attention to detail to resolve problems quickly and effectively and to proactively prevent problems. Escalate as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with coworkers and other departments (Security, Networking, Data Protection, and Operating Systems) in support of customer environments, meeting the customers’ needs quickly and effectively.
• Appropriately document customer interactions in ticketing system.
• Prioritize and complete assigned duties expeditiously and within approved windows.
• Engage with Azure Support on behalf of Lightedge customers as needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly and accurately (both verbally and in writing) while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Stay abreast of latest Azure offerings and make recommendations to leadership.
• Provide senior technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, an associate degree, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 4-6 years’ experience with Azure development and systems administration. Experience providing issue resolution for Azure in a CSP environment highly preferred.
• Possess at least one current Azure Certification.
• Strong preference for applicants with experience or certification in Kubernetes.
• Comprehensive understanding of Azure including current Azure product offerings and services (EntraID and AVD experience preferred), best practices and troubleshooting techniques, and experience providing systems administration and issue resolution for Azure.
• Excellent understanding of networking principles, analysis, and troubleshooting. Experience with hardware or software load balancers, VPNs, firewalls preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with one or more scripting or programming languages. Powershell and Python are desirable.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn automation tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, KQL, and Terraform (Continuous Integration/Development).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects at the same time.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively within a team, while also taking the initiative to lead when needed.
• Initiative and problem solving skills: If you don’t know how to do something you consider it a challenge to try to figure it out.
