Job4Travelers is seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer for a fully remote role. Candidates must be within CET +/- 3 hours (UTC-1 to UTC+4) to align with client needs.

You will design, implement, and manage scalable Azure infrastructure, automate deployments with Terraform, ARM templates, PowerShell and Bash, and lead CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions. Remote, long-term opportunities provided.

This role is fully remote and open to candidates worldwide — but with a critical constraint: you must be within CET ± 3 hours. That window covers UTC-1 to UTC+4, meaning you can work from much of Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Central Asia, but rules out Southeast Asia, the Americas, and most of APAC.

Nomad-friendly destinations within the CET ± 3 window include:

• Lisbon, Portugal (UTC+0/+1): A top nomad hub — co-working spaces are abundant, cost of living is moderate (~$2,000-$2,800/month comfortably), and Portugal's Digital Nomad Visa is ideal for non-EU citizens.
• Tbilisi, Georgia (UTC+4): At the outer edge of the allowed window, very affordable (~$1,200-$1,800/month), and Georgia offers a straightforward 1-year remote work visa (Remotely from Georgia program).
• Tallinn, Estonia (UTC+2/+3): EU-based, excellent digital infrastructure, and home to the e-Residency/Digital Nomad Visa program. Costs around $2,200-$3,000/month.

The role offers consistent 8-hour working days and up to 24 flex days off per year, which is excellent for planning extended travel. Payments are monthly and reliable — a major plus for managing finances across borders. No equipment stipend or co-working allowance is explicitly mentioned.

We are looking for a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer for one of our clients who would be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of Azure-based systems. What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on Azure.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure services and architecture, including Azure VMs, Azure App Service, Azure Functions, and more.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools (ARM templates, Terraform).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Located in the CET timezone (+/- 3 hours) — applications from candidates in other time zones cannot be considered.

Nice-to-Have

• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using ARM templates, Terraform, PowerShell, and Bash to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
• Establish and optimise CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and other relevant tools to automate software deployment.
• Implement and manage containerized applications using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and orchestrate containers using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code principles to define and manage infrastructure resources.
• Set up monitoring and logging solutions using Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and other relevant tools to ensure the health and performance of Azure resources.
• Implement security measures and best practices for Azure resources, ensuring a secure and compliant infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to understand requirements and implement effective cloud solutions.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and ensure the resilience of Azure-based systems.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimise Azure resources, and implement best practices for efficiency.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for Azure infrastructure, deployment processes, and best practices.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
