Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Sr. Cloud Engineer (Azure) to design, deploy, secure, and optimize enterprise Azure infrastructure for federal customers. The role emphasizes IaC, DevOps, and strong security and compliance practices in a remote, W2-based full-time capacity.

Ideal candidates have an active Secret clearance and 5+ years in cloud engineering with 3+ years Azure experience. Expect to work across DevOps, Security, and Government stakeholders to deliver scalable cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• 5+ years in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Systems Administration, or related fields.
• 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering.
• 3+ years with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• 3+ years building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• 4+ years of PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with hybrid-cloud and on-premises integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
• Manage Azure Virtual Machines, VNets, Azure SQL Database, Blob Storage, Managed Disks, and Azure AD.
• Support cloud modernization and infrastructure optimization.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform, ARM Templates, and Ansible.
• Develop automation with PowerShell, Python, and Bash; create reusable templates.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitLab, and Jenkins; support automated deployments, testing, and release management.
• Implement Azure security best practices including RBAC and Defender for Cloud; ensure data in transit and at rest encryption.
• Ensure compliance with FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD requirements; support vulnerability remediation.
• Monitor environments with Azure Monitor and related tools; troubleshoot and optimize performance.
• Configure networking: VNets, DNS, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Load Balancer, Application Gateway.
• Support hybrid-cloud integrations with on-premises environments; assist with migrations.
