Job summary

HyerTek, Inc. is seeking a Microsoft Azure Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, secure, and operate Azure environments for DoW IL5–IL7 workloads.

The role collaborates with cybersecurity teams and government stakeholders to translate mission requirements into production-ready designs. The candidate will own the solution end-to-end, using AI-assisted tooling for infrastructure-as-code and runbooks while ensuring security controls meet accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on cloud or infrastructure engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong experience designing, deploying, and operating Azure solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Government or other regulated government-cloud environments.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain secure Azure environments supporting IL5–IL7 or equivalent.
• Implement cloud landing zones, subscriptions, and governance policies.
• Deploy and manage Azure infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Configure Azure networking, including VNets, DNS, firewalls, and private endpoints.
• Manage identity controls using Entra ID, RBAC, and Key Vault.
• Operate Azure compute, storage, databases, and container services.
• Apply DISA STIGs, encryption, and security baselines with cybersecurity teams.
• Maintain monitoring, logging, and dashboards using Azure Monitor and Defender.
• Support compliance validation and RMF authorization activities.
• Collaborate with DevSecOps to remediate vulnerabilities and findings.
• Produce configuration documentation and handover materials.
