Job summary

HyerTek is seeking a Microsoft Azure Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, secure, and operate Azure environments supporting DoW Impact Levels 5, 6, and 7. The candidate will own end-to-end solutions, work with cybersecurity teams and government stakeholders, and apply AI-assisted tools with careful review before deployment.

The role requires Top Secret clearance and residence in the Washington DC metro area, with some work at Fort Meade in secured facilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on cloud or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong experience designing, deploying, and operating solutions in Microsoft Azure.
• Hands-on experience with regulated government-cloud environments (Azure Government).
• Knowledge of Azure networking, IAM, compute, storage, security, monitoring, and governance.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates; automation scripting.
• Familiarity with DoW RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and DISA STIGs; security baselines.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain secure Azure environments supporting IL5–IL7.
• Implement cloud landing zones, subscriptions, networking, and governance policies.
• Deploy infrastructure with IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Configure networking, identity, logging, and monitoring across environments.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and DevSecOps teams on vulnerabilities and compliance.
• Support RMF authorization, assessments, and continuous monitoring activities.
