Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the AWS Platform Engineering Team. The role focuses on designing and maintaining a scalable, secure cloud platform on AWS, enabling cross-functional collaboration and optimal performance.

You will lead architectural discussions, implement infrastructure as code, and mentor engineers to drive reliability, velocity, and best practices across the AWS stack.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in AWS cloud engineering or similar roles.
• Hands-on with AWS services like Lambda, EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, Route 53, MSK, Glue, EMR.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, CloudFormation).
• Strong knowledge of AWS networking (VPC, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, Transit Gateway).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, CodePipeline, GitHub/Bitbucket).
• Strong OOP and programming in Python or Java.
• Scripting skills in Python or Bash.
• Expertise in logging, monitoring, and alerting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a scalable multi-account AWS platform.
• Develop infrastructure using AWS CDK and CloudFormation.
• Manage secure connectivity using AWS PrivateLink, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
• Implement secure access controls using SCPs, IAM, and Control Tower.
• Lead lifecycle from development to deployment, operation, and refinement.
• Scale systems with automation and drive reliability and velocity.
• Lead architecture discussions, code reviews, and mentor engineers.
