Job summary

Scale is seeking an Operations-focused AWS Engineer to own the AWS infrastructure lifecycle, patching, upgrades, and security hardening. You will partner with the Security Team to remediate vulnerabilities, optimize resources, and automate fleet-wide tasks across multi-account environments.

The role emphasizes infrastructure health, monitoring, and compliance with strong security practices, including Terraform, Atlantis, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Extensive AWS experience with core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS) and multi-account management.
• Track record in large-scale patching programs and major upgrades with minimal downtime.
• Experience with AWS Systems Manager, Terraform, Atlantis, and Kubernetes for config and automation.
• Scripting proficiency (Bash, Python) for automation; focus on infrastructure management, not app dev.
• Security-focused with vulnerability scanning and hardening of cloud infra.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end lifecycle of AWS infrastructure, patching, upgrades, and maintenance for high availability.
• Collaborate with Security Team to identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across cloud footprint.
• Monitor and optimize AWS resource usage for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks such as fleet-wide patching and configuration audits.
• Provide incident response and troubleshooting for infrastructure-level issues and health reviews.
• Build and maintain systems that adhere to strict security standards and compliance requirements.
