Job summary

Scale AI, Inc. is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to own the AWS footprint in a fast-growing generative AI environment.

You will lead end-to-end lifecycle management, patching, upgrades, and high-availability operations across multi-account setups. You will partner with Security and SRE teams on vulnerability remediation, automation of fleet tasks, incident response, and ensuring strict security compliance.

Qualifications

• Extensive AWS Experience: 6+ years with core AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS) and multi-account environments.
• Patching & Upgrades: Experience managing large-scale patching programs and major version upgrades with minimal downtime.
• Operational Tooling: Proficiency with AWS Systems Manager (SSM), Terraform, Atlantis, and Kubernetes for configuration management and automation.
• Scripting: Familiarity with Bash, Python, and similar to automate operational workflows focused on system management.
• Security Focus: Experience with vulnerability scanning and hardening cloud infrastructure.
• Monitoring & Metrics: Experience using Datadog, CloudWatch, or similar tools to monitor health and drive optimization.
• Multi Cloud Experience: Experience with Azure, Google Cloud Platform is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Manage Infrastructure Lifecycle: Lead end-to-end lifecycle of AWS infrastructure, patching, upgrades, and maintenance for high availability.
• Vulnerability Management: Work with Security Team to identify and remediate vulnerabilities across cloud footprint.
• AWS Optimization: Monitor and optimize AWS resource utilization for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Automate Operations: Use scripting/automation tools to streamline fleet-wide patching and configuration audits.
• Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Provide expertise for infrastructure-level issues and participate in health reviews.
• Security Compliance: Build and maintain systems that adhere to strict security standards and proactive mitigations.
