Job summary

Scale is seeking an Operations-focused AWS Engineer to own the lifecycle of large-scale AWS infrastructure in New York. You will partner with Security to patch and harden systems, optimize for performance and cost, and automate daily operations through scripting and tooling.

The role emphasizes incident response, compliance, and proactive risk mitigation within a multi-account environment. Scale offers health benefits, equity, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of AWS experience with core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS).
• Experience leading large-scale patching programs and major OS/middleware upgrades.
• Proficiency with SSM, Terraform, Atlantis and Kubernetes for config/automation.
• Familiar with Bash, Python or similar scripting for ops tasks.
• Strong vulnerability management and cloud security hardening experience.
• Experience with Datadog and CloudWatch for monitoring and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end lifecycle of AWS infrastructure for high availability.
• Identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities with Security Team.
• Continuously monitor and optimize AWS resource utilization for performance and cost.
• Automate repetitive operations including fleet patching and audits.
• Provide incident response and troubleshoot infra-level issues.
• Maintain security compliance through proactive mitigations.
