Job summary

Votaw is seeking an experienced Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to build and own the cloud foundation in AWS GovCloud (US). You will establish the landing zone, implement IaC standards, and design a secure data architecture connecting manufacturing operations to analytics.

You will stand up secure access, encryption, and boundary controls, while enabling CI/CD automation and cost discipline for a lean, PE-backed environment. This role requires independent work in a precision manufacturing context.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of cloud engineering with hands-on AWS experience.
• Direct experience with AWS GovCloud (US) — 2+ years preferred.
• Strong AWS networking skills (VPC, Transit Gateway, hybrid connectivity).
• Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD automation.
• Experience designing secure data pipelines/data lakes on AWS (S3, IAM, KMS, VPC).
• Familiarity with FedRAMP/NIST SP 800-171 or equivalent controls is a plus; willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the GovCloud landing zone with secure networking and logging.
• Establish IaC standards for version-controlled, auditable environments.
• Build data architecture incl. secure ingestion from shop floor to a CUI-tiered data lake.
• Stand up secure access with least-privilege controls and private connectivity.
• Implement encryption in transit and at rest, KMS key management, immutable logging.
• Own cloud networking, including VPC and Direct Connect/VPN integration.
• Establish delivery automation with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
• Own operational health: monitoring, logging, and cost visibility.
• Partner on M&A data integration into the platform on a repeatable pattern.
