Job summary

KBR is hiring an AWS DevOps Engineer to design, automate, secure, and operate AWS environments supporting mission-critical workloads. You will work across cloud engineering, cybersecurity, and application teams to modernize systems and deliver reliable cloud services.

The role emphasizes IaC, CI/CD, container orchestration, and security practices, with opportunities to guide less-experienced engineers and contribute to strategic cloud initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least six years in cloud engineering, DevOps, or related field.
• Hands-on AWS experience with production workloads.
• Experience migrating and modernizing in AWS.
• Proficiency with IaC: Terraform/CloudFormation/CDK.
• Scripting in Python/Bash/PowerShell; Java/Go/JS also useful.
• Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• Git, GitLab, GitHub Actions; CI/CD pipelines.
• Container tech: Docker, Kubernetes, EKS/ECS, Helm; GitOps tools.
• Security, IAM, encryption, monitoring, and FinOps basics.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, secure, and operate AWS environments.
• Assess apps and migrate/modernize using rehosting, replatforming, containerization.
• Develop reusable IaC modules and deployment patterns.
• Automate infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Support container workloads with Kubernetes and cloud services.
• Implement cloud security controls and monitor compliance.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and engineering teams.
• Lead or mentor junior engineers and participate in code/design reviews.
