Job summary

Astyra Corporation is seeking a Senior AWS Developer for an onsite role in Raleigh, NC. The candidate will design, implement, and manage AWS-based data lake solutions, modernize legacy apps, and lead cloud-native development with emphasis on data ingestion, processing, and governance.

Required 10–15 years of software development experience, strong AWS services expertise (S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS, Glue, Athena, etc.), and hands-on Python.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of software development experience.
• Extensive AWS data lake design and development experience.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications to the cloud.
• Hands-on Python scripting and OO languages preferred.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and IaC.
• Experience with ETL tools and data analytics (Power BI or AWS QuickSight) is a plus.
• Agile/Scrum experience is required.
• Security and data governance knowledge including permissions, encryption, auditing and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose modernization strategies.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout project delivery.
• Advise the team on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Develop, test, debug, and deliver within timeline using best tools and practices.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues and challenges.
• Design and implement complex, scalable, secure AWS solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Identify architectural risks and plan mitigations.
• Ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
• Communicate effectively with non-technical audiences, including senior IT and business stakeholders.
