Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior AWS Data Engineer to design scalable, cloud-based data solutions and Generative AI capabilities. You will collaborate with architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise-scale results.

Responsibilities include building data pipelines with AWS Glue, S3, Athena, and Redshift, plus developing Python/PySpark solutions and Java REST APIs using Spring Boot.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related technical roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services, including AWS Glue, S3, Athena, and Redshift.
• 8+ years of experience developing solutions with Python, PySpark, and advanced SQL.
• 8+ years of experience building RESTful APIs and Java applications, preferably using Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise data integration across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Experience developing Generative AI solutions using AWS Bedrock and integrating LLM capabilities into enterprise apps.
• Experience implementing production-grade CI/CD, monitoring, logging, testing, security, and operational best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines using AWS Glue, PySpark, S3, Athena, and Redshift.
• Build complex data transformation, integration, and data quality solutions with Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Develop and support Java-based REST APIs, preferably with Spring Boot.
• Integrate enterprise applications, databases, APIs, and AWS services to support business processes.
• Develop Generative AI solutions using AWS Bedrock, LLMs, and tool-calling frameworks.
