Job summary

MSD is seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer to lead the design, build, and operation of our AWS cloud platform across multiple business segments. You will mentor engineers, set standards, and remain hands-on with architecture, Terraform, pipelines, and production workloads to deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a tech field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in cloud/infra/DevOps roles with progressive responsibility.
• 7+ years hands-on AWS engineering across core services.
• 3+ years people leadership: managing engineers and career growth.
• Strong IaC experience with Terraform; CI/CD integrated workflows.
• Deep experience with ECS/EKS, containerization, and platform tooling.
• Experience in regulated environments and with audits/validation.

Responsibilities

• Lead Cloud Engineering and DevOps teams; set technical direction and standards.
• Architect, build, and operate MSD’s AWS environment across multiple accounts.
• Stay hands-on with Terraform, CI/CD, and production incidents; optimize performance.
• Own Infrastructure-as-Code standards and CI/CD tooling integration.
• Manage cloud security engineering with IAM, KMS, monitoring, and SIEM tooling.
• Lead SRE practices: SLOs/SLIs, on-call, incident response, disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and vendor partners on cloud architecture and roadmaps.
• Ensure compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
