Job summary

GDIT is seeking a Cloud Engineer Principal to design, implement, and optimize AWS-based cloud environments across development, test, staging, production, and disaster recovery environments. You will drive complex cloud initiatives across infrastructure, data engineering, cybersecurity, and DevOps, delivering secure and scalable solutions.

You will apply IAM, VPC, and networking expertise, develop IaC using CloudFormation/Terraform, and enhance observability with CloudWatch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field and 6+ years of cloud engineering/DevOps experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, modernize, and operationally support AWS-based cloud environments and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain cloud architecture patterns, templates, and engineering standards for secure, scalable platforms.
• Independently drive complex cloud initiatives across infrastructure, application support, data engineering, cybersecurity, networking, and operations domains.
• Configure and manage AWS services to meet business, mission, security, availability, and performance requirements.
• Perform incident response, root-cause analysis, capacity planning, performance tuning, and reliability improvements for production cloud environments.
