Job summary

GDH is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer and Cloud Implementation Lead to modernize and govern enterprise cloud platforms in a highly secure environment. You will implement AWS resources via IaC, automate deployments, and drive secure, scalable cloud solutions that meet FedRAMP Moderate controls.

You will lead incident response, design robust architectures, and collaborate with security, development, and operations teams. This fully remote role supports US locations from approved sites.

Qualifications

• U.S. Government security clearance eligibility; U.S. citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in CS/IS.
• At least 8 years in cloud infrastructure roles, with minimum 5 years in AWS cloud engineering.
• Extensive hands-on experience designing AWS solutions (VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, KMS, networking).
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, and PowerShell; strong Python development.
• At least 3 years developing AWS policies as code and using AWS CLI.
• Familiarity with AWS security services such as GuardDuty, Security Hub, and Inspector.
• Knowledge of FedRAMP Moderate or equivalent security standards (NIST 800-53/800-171).
• Demonstrated IaC experience with Terraform and CloudFormation; CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on cloud-native, serverless architectures and containerization.
• On-site work in a secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical implementation and deployment of AWS cloud environments, including provisioning and configuring resources using Infrastructure as Code tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Develop and maintain automation pipelines for deployment processes, enhancing operational efficiency and reliability.
• Design, build, and optimize cloud-native applications utilizing containerization, orchestration, and serverless architectures including Lambda and API Gateway.
• Configure logging, monitoring, metrics, alerting, and implement SRE practices to ensure high availability and performance.
• Produce detailed design documents, diagrams, and operational hand-over guides for cloud environments and applications.
• Support the setup and management of cloud security, including IAM roles, security groups, VPCs, and FedRAMP Moderate compliance.
• Automate repetitive tasks through scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous integration and deployment of cloud applications.
• Collaborate with development, security, operations, and stakeholder teams to tailor cloud solutions with security/compliance goals.
• Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system health and security via logs/metrics (CloudWatch, Security Hub).
