Job summary

Aegon is seeking a Specialist Software Engineer to design and develop web and cloud technologies supporting an agile digital business. The role provides technology leadership and guidance on design, frameworks, and platform decisions.

Hybrid role; three days in office weekly with hubs in Philadelphia, Cedar Rapids, and Denver. The project focuses on cloud-native AWS architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise-wide solutions across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• 6+ years software development with 5+ years on AWS.
• Deep AWS services: EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, VPC, IAM.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong security and networking knowledge.
• Excellent technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-native architectures on AWS.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop serverless and containerized apps using Lambda and ECS/EKS.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code with CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams in agile environments.
• Lead architectural design and translate guidance into detailed designs.
• Prepare presentations and lead development meetings.
