Job summary

Aegon is seeking a Specialist Software Engineer to design and develop web and cloud technologies supporting an agile digital business. You will lead cloud-native architectures on AWS, build CI/CD pipelines, and develop serverless and containerized apps while enforcing security, cost, and performance considerations.

You will mentor teams, translate requirements into technical designs, and collaborate across product and engineering in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• 6 years of software development experience with 5+ years focused on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-native architectures on AWS.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and infra provisioning.
• Develop serverless and containerized applications using Lambda, ECS/EKS, and API Gateway.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform.
• Design and optimize data storage solutions (DynamoDB, RDS/Aurora, S3).
• Establish security best practices including IAM policies, encryption, and network security.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead analysis and complex architectural design across platforms toward end-to-end solutions.
• Work with contract/offshore engineers in agile environment.
• Serve as SME for a wide range of areas, applications, and technologies.
• Recommend solutions considering costs, business needs, and system impact.
• Learn and apply latest advances to support the environment.
