Job summary

Memorial Hermann seeks an Associate Vice President, Total Rewards, to lead the design and execution of compensation and benefits programs for a 35,000-employee healthcare system. You will shape executive compensation strategy, governance, market benchmarking, and analytics to drive a competitive total rewards function.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of progressive total rewards experience with emphasis on compensation.
• Leadership experience in large, complex healthcare.
• Strong leadership, influence and negotiation skills.
• Executive compensation and market benchmarking expertise.
• Knowledge of ERISA, IRS, DOL regulations.
• Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Excellent communication and executive presence, including Board-level presentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive total rewards strategy with emphasis on compensation excellence.
• Lead design and administration of compensation programs including base pay, incentives, and executive compensation (excluding physician compensation).
• Oversee benefits strategy and administration, including health, welfare, retirement (pension and 403(b)), and wellness programs.
• Lead benefits administration, including vendor management, plan governance, compliance, and employee experience.
• Prepare Board-level materials and executive reports; present insights to senior leadership.
• Support and contribute to Benefits and Retirement Committees with executive interaction.
• Lead benchmarking for compensation and benefits ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity.
• Drive operational excellence, analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing total rewards team.
• Ensure safe care and adherence to Memorial Hermann policies within budgetary specs.
