Job summary

Southside Virginia Community College is seeking an Associate Vice-President of Strategic Initiatives to lead high‑priority, regionally impactful efforts. You will guide cross‑divisional teams, manage grants, and translate vision into actionable programs across academic affairs, workforce programs, student services, and finance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required.
• 7–10 years of leadership experience in higher education or related fields.
• Experience leading cross-functional institutional initiatives.
• Track record of securing external funding (grants, appropriations, philanthropy).
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans with measurable outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal communication for executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning and Institutional Initiatives: lead high-priority initiatives aligned with the College’s plan and regional needs.
• External Partnerships and Regional Engagement: cultivate partnerships with industry, government, and nonprofit partners.
• Grants, Funding, and Special Projects: pursue and manage grants and other funding sources.
• Innovation and Program Development: identify and scale innovative academic and workforce programs.
• Leadership and Collaboration: guide cross-functional teams and foster continuous improvement.
