Job summary

Axos Bank is seeking an AVP, Data Analytics – Regulatory Reporting in San Diego to lead end-to-end regulatory submissions to OCC and FRB. You will mentor 2–3 analysts, oversee data sourcing and quality, and collaborate with IT, Finance, Risk, and Compliance to build scalable data pipelines.

The role emphasizes AI-driven automation and strong governance. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in data analytics and regulatory reporting, with advanced SQL and Python skills, plus Databricks experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5–8 years of progressive experience in data analytics, regulatory reporting, or financial reporting within a bank, financial institution, or regulatory agency.
• 2+ years of people management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and retain analytical talent.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL; experience with Python preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage all regulatory reporting submissions to agencies like OCC, FRB, etc.
• Directly manage and mentor a team of 2-3 data analysts; set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews.
• Partner with IT, Finance, Accounting, Risk, and Compliance teams to design scalable data pipelines and automation solutions.
• Identify and implement AI-driven solutions to automate repetitive regulatory reporting workflows.
