Job summary

Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, IA seeks an AVP to lead the Business and Advanced Solutions team, focusing on planning for estate, business, executive benefit, and personal planning cases. You’ll guide analysis and marketing of sophisticated solutions for producers, attorneys, and clients.

You will manage staff, develop materials, and ensure tax/legal expertise is applied to complex cases, while shaping strategic planning with other departments.

Qualifications

• Requires a law degree from an accredited law school and bar admission in at least one state.
• Must have a broad understanding of the sales process and state/federal estate planning laws.
• Solid understanding of qualified plans and market trends.
• CLU/ChFC/CFP designation required.
• FINRA Series 6 registration required or obtainable within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide planning and direction for advanced solutions relating to estate, business and personal planning cases.
• Draft and present marketing and instructional materials for professionals and clients.
• Lead and motivate staff; collaborate with home office departments to deliver effective solutions.
• Provide subject-matter expertise on tax and legal matters for advanced solutions staff.
• Assist on highly complex, large cases with point-of-sale support.
