Job summary

D.O.M. magazine is seeking an avionics technician to assist with installation, troubleshooting and repair of avionics and electrical systems on a variety of aircraft models. This role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to FAA and OEM manuals.

You will document work, coordinate with supervisors, maintain a clean work area, and mentor junior technicians while growing expertise in autopilots, FMS, navigation and related systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on avionics and airframe troubleshooting experience.
• Thorough knowledge of FARs 43, 91, 135, 145.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and procedures.
• Strong written reports and documentation skills.
• Team oriented with mentor experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs all avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft
• Communicates with department manager or crew chief on any problems or repairs
• Ensure all work performed is inspected by an authorized repair station inspector
• Prepares various documents for record keeping purposes as required by company policies, FAA approved repair station and quality control manuals, all FAA regulations, OEM aircraft manufacturer manuals, etc.
• Learns, understands and follows the company work order and parts requisition process as written.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and efficient work area
• Repairs and calibrates shop equipment as assigned
