Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Software Project Engineer (P4) to lead software development for avionics platforms in Melbourne, FL. You will coordinate cross-disciplinary teams and drive software deliverables through planning, integration, verification, and certification workflows.

The role emphasizes strong software lifecycle knowledge, system-level thinking, and the ability to manage dependencies, risks, and customer communications in a fast-paced, on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Ability to lead large software or multi‑discipline teams with interdependencies.
• Experience with software development, integration, verification, or systems-level coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering activities across planning, development, integration, verification and sustainment.
• Coordinate software integration events and verification workflows aligned with certification processes.
• Define and maintain software task sequencing, dependencies, and integration touchpoints.
• Represent software status and milestones to program leadership and customers.
