Job summary

Belcan is seeking an Avionics Software Engineer for contract work in Phoenix, AZ (85027). The role focuses on designing, developing, and testing safety-critical embedded software for TCAS and other CNS applications with DO-178C compliance.

Candidates should have 5+ years of avionics software experience, a related bachelor's degree, and be able to work in a hybrid schedule (2–3 days onsite). U.S. citizenship is required due to security considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (software/electrical/aerospace/CS).
• 5+ years in avionics software engineering for aircraft or spacecraft.
• Full life cycle experience on avionics embedded software.
• Experience decomposing requirements in DOORs or similar.

Responsibilities

• Decompose system requirements to software level within DO-178C.
• Design, code, and test embedded C/C++ software for TCAS/CNS.
• Perform code reviews for standards compliance and optimization.
• Support integration tests ensuring coverage goals (SD/branch/MC/DC).
