Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington State seeks a senior Power Engineer for spacecraft avionics. You will lead design, development, and test of power systems, including generation, storage, regulation, and distribution, ensuring radiation-hardened reliability for spaceflight.

You will perform hands-on fabrication, schematic capture, PCB layout, SPICE simulations, and collaborate with mechanical and thermal teams to optimize layout and interfaces.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineer with experience designing and reworking wire harnesses and prototype electronics.
• Understanding of circuit analyses (Worst Case, Derating, Power, Timing).
• Experience with space radiation environments and sensor interfacing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test spacecraft avionics power systems.
• Lead power generation, energy storage, regulation, and distribution architectures.
• Fabricate, assemble, and test hardware, wire harnesses, and prototypes.
• Design for space environment and radiation effects; ensure reliability.
• Define interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, RS-422, CAN, Ethernet) for sensors.
