Job summary

RTX's Collins Aerospace is seeking a Sr Principal Systems Engineer to shape the next generation of avionics networking. You will own architecture for a scalable, deterministic Ethernet switch family and guide hardware, firmware, and software across multiple platforms.

Lead analyses of end-to-end latency, synchronization, and reliability; collaborate with safety and cybersecurity teams while interacting with customers and suppliers to define reusable design patterns and reviews.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 10+ years of experience or an advanced degree.
• Strong experience in avionics networking and deterministic networking.
• ARINC 664 Part 7 / AFDX experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect a scalable family of deterministic avionics Ethernet switches and define the technical roadmap for multiple future platforms.
• Lead architecture decisions across HW/ FW/ SW, safety, and cybersecurity engineering, guiding reviews and design patterns.
