Job summary

AscendArc in Beaverton, OR is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to lead the design, prototyping, and production rollout of spacecraft avionics enclosures.

You will own designs from requirements through fabrication outputs, applying thermal, mechanical, and electrical knowledge while supporting flight hardware testing under harsh environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Automotive or related field.
  • 5+ years designing/integrating/testing electronics enclosures for aerospace or harsh environments.
  • Knowledge of aerospace connector systems and IPC-620 harness design methods.
  • Familiar with PCB design processes and fabrication technologies.
  • Experience with DO-160 or MIL-STD-810 environmental tests.
  • Proficient in CAD software and prototype craftsmanship.
  • Ability to design/test fixtures for prototype validation.
  • Comfortable working across engineering and production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, prototyping, and production rollout of spacecraft avionics assemblies.
  • Apply mechanical, electrical, and thermal engineering knowledge across systems.

  • Support manufacturing and assembly of flight and qualification hardware.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead thedesign,prototyping, andproduction roll-outof spacecraftavionicsassemblies and parts
  • Apply technical knowledge across mechanical,electrical, and thermal systems
  • Own a design from requirements generation to releasing fabrication outputs
  • Support manufacturing and assembly of flight and qualification hardware at the prototype and production level
  • Comfortable being a mechanical functional lead in multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to design and fabricate test fixtures to support prototype validation
  • Desire to create innovative solutions in highly constrained design spaces
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering,Automotive or related field
  • 5+ years of experience designing/integrating/testingelectronics enclosures for aerospace or other high reliability harsh temperature/vibration/vacuum environments
  • Knowledge of aerospace connector systems and harness design methodologies using IPC-620 quality standards
  • Familiar with PCB design process and fabrication technologies
  • Experience designing for or performing harsh environment test methods included in DO-160 or MIL-STD-810
  • High fluency in advanced CAD software suites
  • Experienceinstalling sensortest assemblies and operating test equipment for mechanical and thermal design validation, with software scripted control a strong plus
  • Perform mechanical tolerance analysis
  • Skilled in prototype construction using metals, composites, and fabricated materials
  • Familiar with manufacturing documentation and process control
  • Comfortable iterating designs, troubleshooting builds, and solving hands-on engineering problems
  • Capable of independent work with minimal oversight andgood communicationacross engineering and production teams
Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $120,000-190,000. Whendeterminingan individual's compensation, we consider several factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data, so pay for this role may vary from the amounts listed.
