Our space systems include a broad range of satellites and components that have supported over 1,700 missions, including the James Webb Space Telescope, NASA Psyche Mission, Artemis I, and Mars Ingenuity helicopter.

About Rocket Lab

Rocket Lab’s Manufacturing team is responsible for building and testing components and electrical assemblies of the Rutherford rocket engine, including soldering, wire harnessing, PCB assembly, and functional testing. The Senior Avionics Manufacturing Technician will support leadership and the production organization with deliverables for internal and external stakeholders, based at our headquarters in Long Beach, California.

What You’ll Get To Do

  4. Contribute to local 5S work center activities.
  5. Identify and report abnormalities.
  6. Complete special projects and scheduled jobs.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience with electrical assemblies and components.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience with PCB assembly, soldering, and harnessing small electrical assemblies.
  • Proficiency with tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, spanners, soldering irons.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience inspecting PCB and wiring assemblies to workmanship standards.
  • Use of specialized tools like wire strippers, torque drivers, multimeters, and test equipment.
  • Experience testing components and operating thermal chambers and software-driven tests.
  • Knowledge of ESD policies and manufacturing standards like IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-610, and IPC-620.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
  • Comfort working with hazardous chemicals.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
  • Willingness to work extended hours or weekends as needed.

Salary and benefits details are provided, with a base pay range of $30–$40 USD for California residents. The role involves working in a dynamic environment focused on innovation and teamwork.
