Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA, is seeking an experienced avionics engineer to own the GPS-based navigation system development for Terran R.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across RF, GNC, and mechanical, lead tests, validation, and integration, and mentor engineers on RF design fundamentals.

A Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering and 5+ years in harsh-environment electronics are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience designing electronics for harsh environments and mission-critical applications (launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, or robotics)
• Experience with hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and data analysis
• Experience working with cross-functional teams (GNC, mechanical, electrical, software) to develop integrated electronics solutions
• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals: impedance matching, transmission lines, link budgets, and antenna theory

Responsibilities

• Own the development, test, and integration of GPS-based navigation system avionics for Terran R.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct architectural trades and develop acceptance/qualification tests.
• Provide technical guidance on RF architecture, telemetry, uplinks, and antenna deployment; mentor hardware engineers on RF design fundamentals.
• Ensure RF systems work cohesively from design through operations and support trades across the vehicle.
