Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. seeks a Senior Avionics Engineer to design and integrate electrical systems for next-generation space-based satellites.

You will collaborate with software, mechanical, and thermal teams to deliver high-reliability power management, FPGA-based boards, and robust signal processing hardware for space applications. The role emphasizes rigorous testing and documentation to meet stringent aerospace standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of electrical design experience in aerospace or related domains.
• Experience with circuit simulation tools LTspice.
• Hands-on lab proficiency with oscilloscopes, signal generators, soldering.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (Altium, OrCAD).
• Familiarity with control systems and sensor integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and test electrical hardware for satellite subsystems focusing on compute power, FPGA boards, and signal processing.
• Develop schematics, PCB designs, and harness diagrams for laser systems and subsystems.
• Test and debug electrical hardware to ensure operation under varied environmental conditions.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and thermal engineers for system integration.
• Maintain documentation including requirements, design specs, and test plans.
• Support environmental testing such as thermal-vacuum, vibration, EMI tests for space qualification.
• Participate in reviews, provide technical insights for system improvements.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies to improve lab design processes.
