Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. in Seattle is seeking a Flight Computer Avionics Engineer to own the design, development, integration, and qualification of the spacecraft flight computer.

You will deliver reliable, radiation-tolerant avionics hardware serving as the central computing platform for our satellites. This hands-on IC role partners with software, GNC, power, RF, thermal, and mechanical engineers to take hardware from architecture through production and flight, ensuring robust integration and

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years developing complex digital hardware.
  • Experience with processor-based embedded systems.
  • Experience bringing hardware from prototype to production.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design spacecraft flight computer hardware from concept through qualification.
  • Own schematic capture, component selection, board bring-up, and debugging.
  • Develop fault-tolerant architectures with redundancy and FDIR.
  • Define interfaces between flight computer and subsystems (power, GNC, comms, etc.).
  • Lead board-level validation and environmental testing.
  • Collaborate with software/FPGA teams for HW/SW integration.
