Job summary

Cowboy Space Corp. in Seattle seeks a Senior Avionics Engineer to lead electrical system design for advanced satellite platforms.

You will collaborate with software, mechanical, solar, and propulsion teams to deliver robust, space-qualified hardware for power, control, and data processing. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in aerospace electrical design, hands-on lab experience, and proficiency with LTspice, Altium, and OrCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of electrical design experience, preferably aerospace or satellite.
• Proficiency with circuit simulation tools (LTspice).
• Hands-on lab experience with test equipment and soldering.
• Experience with CAD tools (Altium, OrCAD) and PCB design.
• Familiarity with control systems and sensors in optical platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and test electrical hardware for satellite subsystems.
• Develop schematics, PCB designs, and harness diagrams for laser systems.
• Perform testing and debugging of electrical hardware, ensuring robust operation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration.
• Maintain detailed documentation including requirements and test plans.
• Support environmental testing for space qualification.
• Participate in design reviews and propose improvements.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and processes.
