Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Sr Advanced Embedded Engineer to lead avionics software verification efforts in DO-178B/C environments. You will drive common test architectures, collaborate with Product COE, PI, TOOLS, CERT, and guide a team of engineers toward high-quality, on-schedule deliveries.

The role requires strong C/C++, Python, embedded programming skills, and proven leadership in complex software projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (ECE/CS/EEE).
• 10–12 years in avionics software development and verification.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Technical Lead in software verification or development.
• Strong knowledge of DO-178 design assurance and verification processes.
• Experience across Aero products in software development and verification.
• Proficient in software verification methods, tools, and industry standards.
• Experience with project plans, schedules, cost estimates, risk management, and reviews.
• Excellent cross-functional communication, including executive-level presentation.
• Green belt and/or DFSS certified.

Responsibilities

• Experience in working on DO-178B/C aerospace programs.
• Drive common test architecture/environment/strategies, tools, processes.
• Very good grasp on C, C++, Python and Embedded programming.
• Experience in using Gen AI tools – ChatGPT, Large Language Models, NLP, to automate processes.
• Collaborate with Product COE, PI, TOOLS, CERT, influencing stakeholders and driving upstream connectivity.
• Define the Burning Platform for the functional team and maintain ongoing communication to motivate improvements.
• Identify, prioritize and deploy key improvement strategies to drive productivity and cycle time.
• Drive test environments, tools, processes, test methodologies; manage Capex/OPEX and oversight reduction.
• Develop talent strategies and strong technical leadership in the product line.
• Influence SW architecture to support efficient testing; stay updated on aerospace testing tech.
• Review design reviews for efficient test approaches and solutions.
