Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Fort Worth is seeking an RS Avionics/Electrical Tech III to provide technical expertise in avionics and aircraft systems testing, troubleshooting and repair. You will teach installation and functional testing per engineering specs, ensure quality installations, document work, and support engineering changes while adapting to schedule changes.

May involve flight tests during certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 5 years avionics/electrical experience.
• A&P license, FCC license or NCATT certification preferred.
• Experience with testing, troubleshooting and repairing avionics/electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates superior technical skills in avionics and aircraft systems testing and troubleshooting.
• Teaches installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components per specs and manuals.
• Ensures quality and efficiency of installations; troubleshoots and repairs malfunctioning systems.
• Repairs and replaces defective components to meet conformity; uses splicing, soldering and pinning techniques.
• Oversees compliance with engineering changes and modifications.
• Sets up and operates test equipment; conducts functional and operational tests.
• Maintains daily logs and paperwork; ensures complete documentation of all work.
• Pre-inspects work prior to inspection to reduce rework and time.
• Provides knowledge in testing and maintaining test equipment and electronic systems.
• Enforces FOD, tool control, 5-S, and safety regulations; adapts to schedule changes.
• Coordinates with other disciplines on projects.
• In support of acft certification, may include flight tests as required.

Education
