Job summary

Communications Engineering Company (CEC) seeks a Technology Specialist to mentor field teams, define standards, and own technical playbooks across Fire, Security and AV domains. You will lead training, perform skill assessments, and drive knowledge management while supporting escalations on complex service issues.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, craft documentation, and provide on-site coaching during live environments to ensure project-to-service handoffs meet quality targets

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in field service, installations, and technical support.
• Experience in training development and coaching preferred.
• Deep knowledge of assigned technology domains (Fire, IP-based systems, AV).",

Responsibilities

• Design and lead technician training programs.
• Perform regular technician skill assessments on site.
• Conduct onsite training in live environments.
• Support technician development plans through feedback and mentoring.
• Nominate technicians to Coordination to optimize workload.
• Ensure safety compliance and standards on all projects.
• Act as top-tier technical escalation for complex service issues.
• Provide remote and on-site support to resolve critical problems.
• Collaborate with Field Operations to reinforce standards.
• Create and maintain Knowledge Base articles and playbooks.
• Incorporate field findings into documentation updates.
• Participate in Post Project Reviews and QA spot checks.
• Validate accuracy of as-built documentation and programming.
• Provide on-site training during live environments.
• Conduct performance-based skill assessments.
• Contribute to training program evaluations.
• Promote continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Work with teams to maintain shared standards across stacks.
• Share insights with Triage and Service teams.
• Participate in Technical Solutions Committee.
• Interface with customers for escalations, training, or sales support.
• Represent CEC's technical excellence in service and projects.
