Job summary

OnPoint Tech Systems is seeking a skilled Sales Engineer to transform client conversations, plans, and budgets into complete, accurate, profitable system designs and proposals for luxury residential and commercial projects in South Florida.

You will own design and estimating from walkthrough to signed contract and handoff to the project team, reading architectural plans and pricing precisely while maintaining margins.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in AV, automation, lighting control, security, or low-voltage integration.
• 2+ years designing or estimating projects.
• Hands-on knowledge of Control4, Crestron, Savant, Lutron, networking, cameras, and access control.
• Read and understand architectural and electrical plans.
• Build accurate estimates with labor and material costs; know what a project takes to install.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and estimating process for residential and commercial projects across AV, automation, lighting, shading, networking, security, and electrical.
• Review plans; perform takeoffs and device layouts.
• Design systems using various platforms (Control4, Crestron, Savant, Lutron).
• Build detailed proposals with equipment, labor, scope, inclusions, exclusions, and options.
• Attend site walkthroughs and design meetings with clients, builders, architects, and designers.
• Present designs and proposals; help clients select the right solution for their budget.
• Produce marked-up plans, rack elevations, line diagrams, and wiring schedules.
• Validate vendor pricing to protect margins; track bids and revise estimates as plans change.
