Hewshott is a leading acoustics, AV, and theatre consultancy offering insights to enhance operations and human experiences. This is a full-time remote role for a Senior AV Designer & Consultant in the Philadelphia area; you must be within 2 hours of Philadelphia.

You will lead client meetings, design AV systems for venues, and coordinate cross-disciplinarily to deliver projects. Your experience should include 5+ years in AV, CS, or related fields with AVIXA CTS; CTS-D is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, AV, IT, or related field and 5+ years of experience.
• AVIXA CTS minimum required; CTS-D preferred. A valid driver's license and ability to travel.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit (or BIM), EASE modeling software, and M365.
• Consultancy or systems integration and client-facing experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead client meetings and manage project scope, deliverables and schedules.
• Design and document commercial AV systems for educational, theatre, sports, corporate, and hospitality venues.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, Owner's teams; manage project deliverables.
• Prepare equipment schedules and cost estimate ranges; produce system descriptions.
• Conduct site visits, review construction progress, and engage with vendors and integrators.
• Work independently under project leads; maintain 40-hour work week.

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Audio Visual (AV) Designer & Consultant at Hewshott located in Philadelphia, PA surrounding area. You must be located within 2 hours of Philadelphia (NYC to DC).

In this role, you will:

• Client-facing skills, management, lead meetings
• Perform needs analysis and document project brief/scope
• Design and document commercial AV systems (educational/professional theatre, sports, corporate/UC, hospitality/landscape)
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., architects, engineers, consultants, Owner's teams) and managing project deliverables and schedules
• Project coordination experience, working with multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear reports, specifications, and presentations.
• Prepare equipment schedules, bill of materials
• Provide descriptions of systems w/ cost estimate ranges
• Participate in Teams/Zoom meetings (internal and client-facing)
• Perform site visits to survey existing venues and systems, attend client meetings in-person, review construction progress, meet with vendors and integrators
• Work independently and take direction from project lead and/or Principal/Partner
• Work an average of 40-hours per week

Qualifications

Candidates should be familiar with various commercial and professional AV system types and control systems. Bachelor's degree (engineering, AV, IT, or related field) and 5+ years of equivalent professional experience. AVIXA CTS minimum required, CTS-D preferred. A valid driver's license and ability to travel. Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit (or similar BIM programs), EASE modeling software (or similar programs), and M365. Must be eager to learn and enthusiastic about delivering excellence, collaborating, AV, performing arts, theaters, technology, and how things work.

Prior experience in consultancy or systems integration and client facing role(s) is highly beneficial.

The following skills/experiences are a plus, but not required:

• AVIXA CTS-D/CTS-I certifications
