Hitachi Energy is looking for a Senior Auxiliary Power Systems Engineer to join our North America Grid Integration Business Unit and support the continued growth of our Grid and Power Quality Solutions and Services (GPQSS) team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) technology, an innovative solution that helps utilities and power system operators increase grid capacity, improve system stability, and accelerate the energy transition. By enabling more efficient use of existing infrastructure, FACTS solutions help deliver reliable power while reducing environmental impact and optimizing investment costs.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience. 5+ years applying NEC and ANSI/IEEE standards, with strong MV/LV auxiliary power system design knowledge. Experience with power system studies, including protection, cable sizing, and equipment coordination. ETAP proficiency strongly preferred; Aspen or SKM experience may also be considered. Knowledge of FACTS technology or HV transmission substation solutions preferred. Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
