Job summary

Caterpillar's Mossville, IL engineering teams are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead system-level integration for autonomy and site technology solutions. You will apply systems engineering to integrate software, hardware, and workflows across machine, site, and platform boundaries, influencing technical decisions across multiple teams.

You will collaborate across software, hardware, machine, and site groups to define requirements, architecture, and verification criteria.

Qualifications

• Experience leading system requirements development across complex multi‑team environments.
• Ability to define architecture, interfaces, and integration strategies at scale.
• Ability to influence technical direction beyond a single team.
• Knowledge of software development life cycle and structured delivery.
• Experience in software product testing and QA.
• Experience with application development tools and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Define, decompose, and manage system-level requirements and interfaces.
• Lead or support system integration and validation activities.
• Ensure alignment between architecture intent, implementation, and verification.
