True Anomaly seeks an Autonomy Engineer to design and deploy core autonomy capabilities for fleet scheduling, vehicle autonomy, and mission planning. You will work across AI, ML, and optimization domains with a cross-functional team to deliver trustworthy autonomy in space operations.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, ownership of systems, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment at Denver or Long Beach offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in operations research, applied math, CS, aerospace or related field with 8–11 years experience; or Master's with 6 years; or PhD with 3 years.
• Proficient in C/C++ and Python for implementing optimization solvers and numerical methods.
• Expertise in adversarial optimization, mathematical programming, statistical learning, distributed optimization.
• Solid foundation in probability theory, optimization and stochastic decision processes.
• 4+ years deploying optimization algorithms in real-world operational systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate optimization algorithms for fleet-level mission planning and resource allocation.
• Contribute to system architecture for large-scale distributed optimization guided by modeling and constraints.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into mathematical programs and scalable solutions.
• Tune models via simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and deployment in operations.
• Develop production-quality implementations with thorough documentation and testing.
